Damekast Liv is a dual-action anti-allergic tablet containing Montelukast 10 mg and Levocetirizine 5 mg. These two agents target complementary inflammatory pathways in allergic disease — histamine-mediated and leukotriene-mediated — providing broader and more complete control of allergy symptoms than antihistamine monotherapy alone.
Indications & Uses
- Seasonal and persistent allergic rhinitis (sneezing, runny nose)
- Hay fever
- Allergic conjunctivitis (itchy, watery eyes)
- Urticaria and allergic skin conditions (as prescribed)
- Airway inflammation associated with mild asthma (adjunctive)
Mechanism of Action
Levocetirizine
A potent, non-sedating second-generation antihistamine that selectively blocks peripheral H₁-histamine receptors, preventing histamine-induced allergic effects.
Montelukast
A selective cysteinyl leukotriene receptor antagonist (LTRA) that blocks the action of leukotrienes — the inflammatory mediators responsible for airway swelling and mucus production.
