Pantodame DSR 40 is a sustained-release (SR) capsule combining two complementary pharmacological agents: Pantoprazole 40 mg and Domperidone 30 mg. Together, these provide comprehensive management of upper gastrointestinal symptoms that involve both excess acid secretion and impaired gastric motility.
Indications & Uses
- Dyspepsia and hyperacidity
- Gastritis with nausea
- Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease (GERD)
- Heartburn with delayed gastric emptying
- Nausea and vomiting associated with acid reflux
Mechanism of Action
Pantoprazole
Blocks gastric acid secretion by irreversibly inhibiting the H⁺/K⁺ ATPase proton pump.
Domperidone
Increases movement of the stomach and intestines (gastroprokinetic), reducing nausea, bloating, and the sensation of fullness.
Safety Advice
Avoid driving if drowsy or dizzy. Use caution with alcohol. Not recommended in patients with prolactinoma or GI hemorrhage.
Common Side Effects
Diarrhea, stomach pain, dry mouth, dizziness, headache.
