Mechanism of Action

Esomeprazole

Irreversibly inhibits the H⁺/K⁺ ATPase proton pump in gastric parietal cells, producing potent and sustained suppression of acid secretion. As the S-isomer, it offers more consistent acid control than racemic omeprazole.
